風景を切り取るヴォルト

瀬戸内海に面する海辺のカフェの計画案。造船のまちに建つこの建築に、船体をつくる技術から着想を得た鉄板のヴォルト屋根を計画した。連続するヴォルトは瀬戸内の島々の稜線に溶け込み、抜けた先には、美しい海と夕日が浮かび上がる。

Vaults Toward the Sea

A proposal for a seaside café overlooking the Seto Inland Sea. Inspired by the shipbuilding heritage of the town, the design features a steel vault roof derived from the techniques used to shape ship hulls. The series of vaults blends into the silhouette of the Seto Inland Sea’s islands, while the tunnel-like spaces frame views toward the horizon, where the sea and the setting sun emerge as a striking landscape.
