不確かさを形にする

4人家族のための住宅計画。施主は世界各地を旅しながら暮らしてきたが、子どもの誕生を機に、はじめて拠点を構えることになった。しかし、この先もずっとここに留まるとは限らない。子どもが独立すれば再び旅に出るかもしれないし、住宅の一部、あるいは建物全体を貸すことも、店として開くことも起こりうる。答えのない未来に、建築はどう応えられるか。

建物は4つの屋根からなる。水回りや設備機能はそのひとつに集め、残る3つの空間は間仕切りで分けることも、開け放ってひとつにつなげることもできる。それぞれの屋根は異なる勾配をもち、周辺環境との視線をやわらかく調整しながら、多方向から光と風を取り込む。変化し続ける暮らしを受け止める、ひとつの生き方に留まらない住まいを目指した。

Giving Form to Uncertainty

A house designed for a family of four. Having spent many years traveling around the world, the clients decided to establish a permanent home following the birth of their children. Yet their future remains open-ended: they may resume traveling once the children become independent, or they may choose to rent out part or all of the house. It could even be adapted for commercial use. The project explores how architecture can respond to such uncertainty.

The house is composed of four distinct roof volumes. One volume consolidates the building’s service functions and infrastructure, while the remaining spaces are designed to be either connected or divided as needs change over time. Each roof has a different pitch, gently mediating views to and from the surrounding environment while bringing natural light and ventilation into the house from multiple directions.The design aspires to create an open and adaptable home capable of accommodating an evolving way of life.
